What you need to get started
  • AOID Account
    You must have a registered AOID account at PLUS tier or higher
  • Hardware
    Meet minimum specs for your chosen tier
  • Stake
    Lock minimum CHK stake for the duration of operation
  • Uptime
    Maintain 99.5%+ uptime (30-day rolling)
  • Updates
    Install validator software updates within 72 hours of release
  • Compliance
    Operators in sanctioned jurisdictions are prohibited
Terms & Agreements
Operator obligations and conditions
  • Validators receive encrypted SSS shares, NOT raw biometric data
  • Operators must never attempt to reconstruct full biometric templates
  • No logging of share data beyond what is needed for verification
  • All data must be encrypted at rest and in transit
  • Data retention: verification shares are ephemeral, discarded after processing
  • 99.5% uptime measured per 30-day rolling window
  • Response time: verification requests must complete within 5 seconds
  • Downtime notifications: planned maintenance requires 48-hour advance notice
  • Unplanned downtime exceeding 4 hours triggers automatic reward reduction
  • TLS/SSL required for all network communication
  • SSH key-only access (no password authentication)
  • Firewall: only required ports open (validator port + SSH)
  • No exposed management interfaces (databases, admin panels)
  • Regular security updates applied within 7 days of release
  • Intrusion detection recommended
  • Incorrect results (detected via cross-validator comparison): 10% stake slash
  • Extended unnotified downtime (>24 hours): 5% stake slash per incident
  • Extracting/storing/logging biometric data: 100% stake slash + permanent ban
  • Colluding with other validators to compromise verification: 100% stake slash + permanent ban
  • Running unauthorized or modified software: 50% stake slash
  • Maximum cumulative slash before forced exit: 50%
  • Voluntary exit: 30-day notice period, stake returned after 14-day cooling period
  • Involuntary exit (slashing): stake forfeited to slashing pool, remaining returned after 30-day cooling
  • Network wind-down: all stakes returned with 90-day notice
  • Disputes handled by CHK.GOV Standing Committee
  • On-chain evidence required for all claims
  • 14-day resolution window
  • Appeal to CHK.GOV governance vote as final arbiter
